Midgårdsormen is a figure that belongs to the giant gendre in the Nordic mythology.
It is said in the Edda that the snake of Midgard was big enough to make a circle around the town and bite itself in its tail.
The village inhabitants worry grew the bigger the the snake became and decided to throw it into the seven seas. Feeling rejected, this action awoke the anger of the giant, and from that day on, he terrorized all sailors or anyone darring to come near, rising from the sea depts.
The god Tor was brave enough to fight the beast. An neverending battle showed that their strengh turn out to be equal, since they killed eachother simultaneously.
As a symbol, the Snake of Midgard could be all the emotions we have inside of us, that we sometimes choose to leave aside, or even reject. While doing so, they might grow bigger to finaly turn into unmanageable monsters.
The version of the Snake that I suggest is one that symbolizes all our inner monsters by its many tails, all brought together in a unity, heading in the same direction, all have been channeled.
